July 2008

I love my senior dogs, we have a special bond, we have history and the serenity of no expectations...all the dreams have been chased. I wouldn't miss the time or the love they have given me.  This year has taken its toll as one by one, my old friends have left.  July 2nd, Ch Whisper  passed away at 14. On July 4th, much to our shock. Sarah unexpectedly passed away also.  Too many good-byes.

The world craves balance, so for happier news, we'd like to congratulate new Can Ch Glamoor Center Ice. Heidi is the second puppy from her litter to finish her Canadian championship. A third littermate, Cory (Glamoor No Reservations) recently won at the CSSA Regional Specialty in Thunder Bay and is lacking just 1 point for her title. Both puppies are bred/owned by Simone Rudolph.

June 2008

This has been a tough year here at Echowyn. We have lost another one of our sweet seniors. Echowyn Face Value has left us at the age of 15.  Our condolences to Tim Brezeale on the loss of Winston at age 14.

We are proud of the Aspen kids in Canada. Cynder finished in fine fashion totally owner handled by junior Jade Unrau. They have had success as a specials team with 2 Group 1sts and a BPIG to their credit. The litter sister, Hiedi, needs 1 point to complete her Canadian CH and has also included a Group 1st to her credit. Another litter sister is just starting her career. Congratulations to their breeder Simone Rudolph. Aspen is now home in NC. Thank-you to Simone for taking great care of Aspen during his stay with you.

I have a 9 month old tri girl available from the Simon-Trouble litter.

May 2008

Happy belated news from the ASSA National specialty. Mimi, Can Ch Echowyn Remember Me was 3rd in the competitive Open Black Class. Mimi has stayed stateside to work on her Am CH.  She has picked up 5 points with two BOB over specials so far.....

April 2008

Another sheltie star graces the heavens. We mourn the loss of our matriarch Fallon, Echowyn Soft Focus.

February 2008

Congratulations to Sheri Blake and Junior, Windy Creek's This Buds For You (a Gracie son) and To Terry Jennings and Jack, Clearsky The Prestige (a Tux son) on their majors at the Tidewater Shetland Sheepdog Club specialties! Our own Cher, Echowyn Star Mystique picked up her first 2 pts in Greenville, SC under judge George Marquis.
A new sheltie star graces the heavens. Good-bye to my sweet Brooke, Ch Echowyn Soft Serenade.

January 2008  Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to the new year. Simon, Player and Cher will be out at select shows this spring. I'm waiting for Tux to coat back up and hopefully be back in the ring late this spring. Tux has some pretty puppies just coming of age that will be seen at specialties over the next several months. Aspen is still in Manitoba with Simone Rudolph. He has a new litter at Cassbar. Congratulations go out to Sherri Monahan, Charlene Jones and Sheila Monks. Their blue Megan daughter sired by Ch Shield Crest He's No Rookie picked up her first points and several major reserves out with Sheila this winter. Way to go Alex! (Shield Crest I have the Look).

Homepage archive

Welcome! We're always happy to have other sheltie lovers stop by. This page is a work in progress. I am adding content to these pages as I get the opportunity and adding to my experience as a fledgling webpage creator in the process. My hope is that one day - both will amount to something!

In these pages you'll find an introduction to our family and home. The dogs that make Echowyn shelties proud have their own individual pages that can be accessed from The Dog page. That's where you can find out what's available, what breedings are planned, and announcements and brags.  I've also included a page of candid photos that are just for fun.  Puppies, past & present can be seen in the Puppy Gallery.

If you are seeking information about shelties, please check out the links on the Sheltie Info page. I have listed links to primary resources and links to clubs with web pages.  There is also a short article on training puppy ears. I hope to add other articles such as choosing a breeder, crate/house training, and puppy development in the near future. On the Links page, I have shared with you many of the resources I've found on the web, as well as a list of other Sheltie  homepages.

I treat these pages as my internet scrap book, sharing with you the dogs we are proud to love and be loved by. Please treat the images on these pages with respect. Most all of the photos and graphics are copyrighted by the original photographer/artist. I have provided links on the Links page to the sites where these graphics and more can be properly obtained. Some of the drawings and backgrounds are my own and represent dogs special to me. Please ask before taking these for your own use. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please, look around, have a pleasant stay, and come back soon!
